Stage 1 · Kindergarten

Six areas that support every stage of your child’s growth

In alignment with the Pearson Early Years model, our curriculum is structured around six pivotal areas that holistically support the various stages of your child's growth, in our Kindergarten Learning Studio.

The Kindergarten Learning Studio

How children learn

Learning through play

Effective communication and literacy

Research shows near-native proficiency can be reached when a language is learned before the age of 10. Our curriculum emphasises English, Mandarin, Tetum and Portuguese from as early as 3 years old, through speaking, listening, reading and writing, with a heightened focus on English and Mandarin.

Unleashing creativity

Arts, design, music and dance ignite imagination, help children express their thoughts and ideas freely, and bridge cognitive skills across the curriculum.

Numeracy mastery

Mathematics lays the groundwork for logical, systematic thinking. We introduce mathematical language, concepts and thinking that prepare children for problem-solving in Primary.

Fine arts

Painting, printmaking, model crafting and digital art spark imagination. Musical exploration introduces the ukulele and traditional Timorese instruments, with basic notation, singing and dance.

Social, economic and environment (SEE)

Young learners explore sustainability through SEE topics, Global Perspectives and weekly TED Talk sessions, and learn about Asian and European cultures through Cultural Studies.

Sports

A healthy body nurtures a healthy mind. Team sports and coordinated activities develop gross and fine motor skills, spatial awareness and social skills.
