Our Primary curriculum ignites a lifelong love for learning. The Pearson Primary programme sits at its core, with a dedicated focus on the pillars of sustainability: social, economic and environmental (SEE).
Our mission is not only to nurture essential learning skills but also to build strong character, so Primary students find their self-worth and boldly declare, “This is Who I Am!” Our curriculum is divided across six enriching areas.
English is at the heart of our curriculum, building fluency in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students also learn Mandarin or Portuguese as a foreign language.
Mandarin follows the Youth Chinese Test (YCT) and HSK curriculum, and Portuguese teaches European Portuguese. All students learn conversational Tetum and reading, connecting them with the Timorese community.
Science and mathematics
A dynamic science curriculum nurtures curiosity, scientific inquiry and practical skills. Mathematics follows the Pearson Primary programme, helping students grasp principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships, with critical thinking and evidential reasoning throughout.
Digital skills
From coding to computational thinking, Primary students begin a journey of Digital Literacy and Computing that continues into Secondary, building responsible digital skills.
Fine arts
Painting, printmaking, model crafting and digital art build critical thinkers with a keen sense of reflection. Music includes the recorder, melodica and traditional Timorese instruments, with basic notation, singing and dance.
Social, economic and environment (SEE)
Our curriculum is a beacon of sustainability education. Students are guided through social, economic and environmental (SEE) topics within our Global Perspectives subject and weekly TED Talk sessions, where they share their viewpoints in front of their peers. Through Cultural Studies they build a deep understanding of Asian and European cultures, with a growth mindset that helps them embrace diversity, practise empathy and declare, “This is Who I Am!”
Sports
Students learn fundamental movement and develop skills through gymnastics, running, jazzminton, futsal, pickleball and dodgeball, building a lasting love of an active lifestyle.
